After McCorvey came back from the state school she lived with her mother's cousin who she claims raped her every night for three weeks. When McCorvey tried to seek help she was called a liar and no one believed her. Then, at the age of 16 she married her husband, the father of her first child(Melissa), who ended up being violent. McCorvey's mother ended up taking custody of Melissa and later on McCorvey became pregnant again with a baby boy who was given up for adoption.
By the age of 21 McCorvey got pregnant a third time and tried to get an abortion but couldn't obtain it due to the laws. This led McCorvey to seek for the right to an abortion which took a long time, thus giving rise to the Roe v Wade case. In the mean time she gave birth to her baby and gave the baby up for adoption. Throughout this McCorvey told the press her name was Jane Roe. Later on after the case, McCorvey became a Christian pro-life activists.
Good concise article on one of the most important Supreme Court cases in United States history. Abortion is still a very controversial topic today and many women consider it to be a fundamental right to their bodies, so your coverage of this case is still very relevant to modern society.
