The 2000's were a great era for the american people in the aspect of technology. As the knowledge of computers and satellites increased and developed, it became more easily obtainable to the public. The GPS was first invented for military use but later made its way into the civilian market when paper maps were becoming too inadequate for society. Once it hit the market in 1999 it made it to a few people but then really took off in 2005.
Another invention that swept society by storm is IPod. The IPod was the perfect replacement for the Sony Walkman and portable CD players. With this new creation people were able to download more songs than ever before and it was also smaller in order to fit into your pocket. The IPod was released in 2001 and it continued to progress into what would later be the IPhone and other smart phone devices.
Finally, with the advancement of technology we are able to further our skills in the Hospital. With the creation of Robot-assisted surgery we were able to turn normally invasive surgery's and make them minimal with very little cuts and getting to the problem quick and effectively. This is an expensive machine however as it costs $1,390,000. The cost is worth it however because it allows the patient to be on the table for a shorter amount which in turn limits the room for error and further injuries or death.
It's hard to imagine what our life is like without these inventions, which have greatly improved conveniency and made our lives much easier. ReplyDeleteThe technology of the 2000s drastically shaped many of our childhoods. I remember having a Nintendo DS and Wii, two huge products created by Japanese companies. Today, the Wii and DS are lesser known compared to the Sony PS II and other consoles, but they still hold a place in our hearts. Additionally, the tech boom of the 2000s, though great for the Clinton presidency, hurt America in 2008. Many people feared that the technological markets would not grow, especially during the recession period, and as a result, they withdrew money held in investing accounts all at once. The American economy had a near collapse.
