5 unkown facts about President Kennedy

1. Four children
President Kennedy had four children, the first two children being Caroline and John Jr. Then in 1956 Mrs. Kennedy had a stillborn girl who would of been named Arabella. Mrs.Kennedy gave birth to yet another baby in early august 1963. However, the baby boy named,  Patrick Bouvier Kennedy, was born 5 weeks too early and weighed so little that he died two days later from pulmonary disease.

2.Three rites before reaching presidency
Kennedy suffered from poor health conditions nearly his entire life. Kennedy feared dying before attaining the position of presidency so on three occasions he received the last rites that he believed helped save his life.

3. The military and Kennedy
Before WWII began Kennedy tried to enlist in the military but due to his back problems, was not accepted. However, because his father had connection we was finally accepted to be part of the navy in 1941

4. Princeton University
Kennedy began his academic career in Harvard University but later began to study at Princeton University. However, his studies there did not last long due to an illness that caused him to transfer back to Harvard.

5. Secret Taping System

Kennedy installed a secret taping system in the white house that recorded many discussions in the Oval office and the Cabinet room. Kennedy most likely installed it to help him refer back to certain things or to help him in the future. The taping system recorded many historical conversations which include the Cuban Missile Crisis.

  1. Very interesting! This is something very interesting to know about. That's really knowledge to know how JF Kennedy suffered from a lot health condition because usually a lot of the media shows him as such a good president and no real means into his personal life like many other presidents. Also its pretty ironic how he wanted to participate in the war and I believed influenced his decision when it comes to the Vietnam and the Cuban Missile crisis where he wanted to avoid the fighting. How do you think he managed to even become president knowing he had these health conditions could affect him dearly? How do you think JFK's recording/ installed the taping system helped other presidents decide on the hard problem they faced?

  2. It's interesting to see that taping in the white house has been done in the past. Currently there are some accusations of Obama taping the white house, so it's interesting to see that it's been done before.
